Mudrunner equinox!
Easily one of the highlights of my life!...but only one!
Tried the mudrunner challenge whilst i was on my travels up in Scotland! I was originally planning just to take some pics of my mate (who dissapeared haflway through the course like a nutter!) because I hadn't done any training and I'd been whining like a little girl all week about my leg.....boo hoo!
But after waking up and eating a full english breakfast (bad idea) I decided to be a man and give it a go (it would be an awkward car journey back if i didn't). So after looking like a complete tool for half an hour stretching I our hotel room I felt like I was ready to embark on this epic event, 6(ish) miles of coutryside terrain and mud pits and streams in my old flowery swimming shorts and a pair of 5 year old DC's I decided to take with me just in case, not the best choice of running shoe ever.
One of the last to start and I thought it would be easier than it looked....but within the first 2 miles my knee popped and i felt like crying in this little river of mud they'd carved into a field for us, but I grinned and beared it for the sake of competition! Bombed into a mud pit along with my friend and managed too cover some poor soul in mud, and I manged to swallow some because like an idiot, I bombed in with my mouth open! My clothes got heavy after that, including my shoes which are mostly made of sponge!

This was one hell of a day and i plan on doing it again, following some instense training so i can actually do it in a time to brag about! If you're thinking of doing it......don't second guess yourself! Its so much fun and I plan on doing a load so I can get my FREE HOODIE! If I can do it in...
1 HOUR 50 MINUTES
then someone else with a bit of training can manage it faster than me!

You get a free T-shirt and medal for taking part too! made me feel better!
